Push Through the Resistance
Doesn't this look delicious?
It was my lunch today after a frigid and wet day on the bike. It was called The Grilled Greenhouse, which included a combo of veggies and Swiss on homemade sunflower bread. It was sooo good.
We are now fully into our Ripple Challenge™, and you may have noticed that one of the basics is mindfully eating a meal or snack each day.
If you're unfamiliar with mindful eating, it's an invitation to connect with your food. Think about how much time we spend selecting our food, preparing it, and then we gulp it down or eat while reading, listening, watching, or typing.
To mindfully eat is to stop all that and be with your food. Take time to appreciate your food using all five senses, and, most importantly, take your time.
We will all have moments when we feel like we need to eat on the run, but carving out a few moments to connect with your food can lead to some awesome sauce benefits like:
- Increased awareness of hunger and fullness
- Weight loss
- Stress reduction
- Better digestion
- Less overeating and binging
- Increased food satisfaction
- Making healthier choices
I hope this challenge will further your commitment to mindful eating. You never know, it could help you achieve your "hard thing."
Thanks again for being part of it!
