#25 to 23 Mindful Moments

#25 to 23 Mindful Moments

#25 - seeing the sun kiss water

One of my bicycling routes parallels the Hudson River, and when my timing and conditions are right, the sun kisses the river as it rises in the East. It reminds me that Mother Earth is never in a hurry, but somehow, she gets everything done. Nature is so damn awesome.

And since we are nature - it makes all of us awesome.

#24: the first bite of a NY slice

You're the first bite of a NY slice of pizza can be a challenging endeavor. The mouth starts to water as you breathe in the perfume of Roma tomatoes, oregano, garlic, and melted mozzarella. You might blot the grease and fold it the proper New York way with one hand, but with a sense of calm, carefully taking your first bite so as not to burn the roof of your mouth. It's not just pizza; it's a mindful eating experience. NY has the best pizza, but NJ has the best bagels.

#23: breakfast with Dad

Today is my Dad's 87th birthday. Growing up, kids generally don't think their parents get them or believe they are nothing like their parents. But as you age, you realize that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree and how much you love apple trees.

Happy Birthday, Dad. We love you!

I will share more about our breakfast during Sunday's blog post.
